1. SERVICE DESCRIPTION

1.1 Air Freight: Rapid transport of goods via air carriers from international hubs to Jamaica.

1.2 Sea Freight: Cost-effective transport for larger items, including Barrels and Boxes.

1.3 Ground Transportation: Local courier services including personal delivery and Knutsford Express drop-offs.

1.4 Personal Shopping: A specialized service where A.S.K acts as a purchasing agent for customers who require assistance with sourcing and buying items internationally.

2. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1 Documentation: Customers must provide authentic invoices for all items. Failure to provide invoices may lead to delays in Jamaican Customs clearance.

2.2 Packaging: Customers are responsible for ensuring that goods sent to our international warehouses are packed sufficiently for transit.

2.3 Prohibited Items: Customers must ensure no items from the Standard Customs Blocked List are sent. (See Section 6).

3. COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 Care Standards: A.S.K International Island Shipping commits to handling all packages with the highest level of care and professional diligence.

3.2 Delivery Commitments: We aim to provide an efficient and reliable service, maintaining a "people-friendly" environment where customers feel like family rather than a number.

4. PRICING AND PAYMENT

4.1 Freight Rates: * 1 – 10 lbs: 550 JMD per lb.

  • Over 10 lbs: 500 JMD per lb.

    4.2 Processing Fees: A standard processing fee [Insert Amount] is applied to every package.

    4.3 Local Delivery Fees: Local delivery services (Personal or Knutsford) are billed at a rate of 400 JMD – 700 JMD.

    4.4 Payment Terms: All charges (freight, processing, duties) must be paid upfront or at the point of collection/delivery. No packages will be released on credit.

5. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

5.1 Liability Limits: Our liability is limited to the cost of freight of the damaged or lost item. We are not liable for internal mechanical/electronic failure of items or for items improperly packed by the seller.

5.2 Claims Process: Any claims for damage must be made at the time of delivery or pickup. Once a package leaves our custody and is signed for, A.S.K is no longer liable.

6. PROHIBITED ITEMS

6.1 In accordance with Jamaican Law and Customs regulations, we do not accept:

  • Firearms, ammunition, or imitation firearms (including toy guns).

  • Illegal drugs or controlled substances.

  • Explosives, flammable liquids, or hazardous chemicals.

  • Currency, jewelry, or precious metals.

  • Any other items listed on the Jamaica Customs Agency Restricted List.

7. DELIVERY TERMS AND STORAGE

7.1 Timeframes: Packages are available for pickup/delivery 1–2 days after the package status is updated to "Ready for Pickup."

7.2 Storage Fees: Packages held beyond 15 days will incur a storage fee of 50 JMD per day.

7.3 Abandoned Goods: Items left for more than 60 days without payment or communication will be considered abandoned and may be sold to recover freight costs.

8. FORCE MAJEURE

8.1 A.S.K shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to: Acts of God (hurricanes/floods), Customs delays, airline/vessel cancellations, or government-mandated lockdowns.

9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

9.1 Communication First: As we value our relationship with our customers, any disputes should first be raised with the General Manager for an understanding and amicable resolution.

9.2 Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the Laws of Jamaica.

10. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

10.1 We collect customer data (Name, ID, TRN, Address) solely for the purpose of fulfilling logistics services and Customs requirements. We maintain strict confidentiality and do not share data with unauthorized third parties.

11. MODIFICATION TERMS

11.1 A.S.K International Island Shipping reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Customers will be notified of significant changes via our website or email.

12. TERMINATION CLAUSES

12.1 We reserve the right to close a customer account if there is evidence of fraudulent activity, repeated non-payment, or verbal abuse toward our staff.

13. REFUND POLICY

13.1 Freight Refunds: Only applicable if a service failure is determined to be the fault of A.S.K.

13.2 Product Refunds: For Personal Shopping, refunds are subject to the original retailer's return policy. A.S.K is not responsible for the quality of items purchased from third-party websites.
